About

The Dervish Club

Established in 1928, The Dervish Club, is one of the oldest private men’s social clubs in Dallas, Texas for men who have completed undergraduate studies. Dervish was founded in 1928 in support of the Dallas Idlewild Debutantes. The founding members strove to create an organization which would foster fraternal and business relationships that would benefit both its members and the surrounding community.

The Dervish Club serves as a valuable means by which members may strengthen their business, social and personal relationships. The Club sponsors numerous social functions throughout the year. Its annual functions include quarterly member-only networking meetings, spring crawfish boil, annual philanthropy event, fall party and member only Christmas party. In addition, the Club hosts charity and other events with its peer clubs: Idlewild, Calyx, Terpsichorean, Slipper and Cotillion.

The Dervish Club, like any organization, is only as strong as its members. The strength of our members is a testament to the Club. As we move from the 20th to the 21st century, the goals of the Club remain the same: to strengthen and create personal bonds in both the business and social community that will last a lifetime. Over 85 years later, we continue to pursue growth personally, in business and the community.
